Circuitdelic Laboratory Philosophy Expressed Mathematically.

Circuitdelic Laboratory Mandelbrot Set

Wikipedia Summary:

Images of the Mandelbrot set exhibit an infinitely complicated boundary that reveals progressively ever-finer recursive detail at increasing magnifications; mathematically, the boundary of the Mandelbrot set is a fractal curve. The “style” of this recursive detail depends on the region of the set boundary being examined.

Explorations in concepts of recursiveness in Art, Music, Society. Implemented artistically with inventions such as laser light to audio, music loops. DC motors with light diffusers create a recursive, rhythmic sound. The lab looks to alter and break loops and recursion by creating dynamic, unpredictable, interesting sounds.

From a societal perspective, Circuitdelic Laboratory sees and breaks loops in recursive behavior.

Trauma, Poverty, Language are all elements of “Mandelbrot” behavior society/people engage in by passing this onto others. Parts systemic, institutional. On a personal level they can be subliminal, subconscious. Those are the parts that are able to be forgiven, if there is a recognition and attempt at correction. The inability to compartmentalize personal trauma or difficult situation and then use that as a justification for how to treat others is intolerable.

The Circuitdelic Laboratory has spent childhood, adolescence, and the last decade locked in such a loop.

For the last decade, there was a cause greater than the Laboratory. Full stop. Accepted. Mission Complete. Loop? Decimated.

What happened before? In the precious formative years, an infant, child, and young person’s mind is shaped by those responsible. And by the environment they exercise that responsibility in. Everyone who takes on such a responsibility is held to account.

In social interactions, there is no requirement for the Circuitdelic Laboratory to engage in or tolerate “Mandelbrot” thinking or behavior, even if being done for a greater cause. Keep it in that box. Any negative projection is met with immediate and enduring silence. A Mandelbrot “Zoom Out” above the noise, the details, the nonsense.

Bad loops must be broken. A Jazz mentality adopted. Preferably Haitian Jazz. Recognize. Apologize. Adapt. Flow. Change. Wrong notes will be played. It’s OK. Back on out of that Mandelbrot Loop. Just like the crawfish.

Circuitdelic Laboratory Commitment:

To recognize “Mandelbrot” behavior first in oneself. This includes looking back. Recognizing. Acknowledging the impact. Sincerely apologizing for the hurt and pain. Endeavor to never repeat. Exit the loop. 🙏✌🏼

Follow-up which I suspect won’t be found. Evolutionary Psychology and a specific area of research has revealed what was always felt, even as a child, tapping fingers together until numb repeating “this is real, I am a person.” Real as in, not a dream. Not waking up. It is quite something when a fundamental truth is realized. Some drain you so rapidly, they double you over in physical sickness. Even when deep inside, you knew. You always knew. It was you. Always.
