Dispatches from the Circuitdelic Laboratory
The drive continues east. I’ve crossed the Ohio River and passed through the quiet ridges of Hocking Hills. Now the sign welcomes me into Pennsylvania — Claysville, I-70 East.
As the border faded behind me, Johnny Nash’s I Can See Clearly Now played through the headphones — a fitting companion. The sun lit the fields, the bridges arched overhead, and once again, the reflections found me. Shadow on grass. Glass layered with sky. Steel cutting through blue. The observer remains embedded in the landscape.
Alan Watts often reminded us that “the whole point of life is to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now.” The Circuitdelic Laboratory is not confined to galleries or studios. It lives in these transitory pauses — in the roadside shadows, in the layered windows of a simple welcome center.
This is not just a drive to give away a car. It is another small segment in the unraveling of possession, attachment, and self. The bridge is literal — and also symbolic.
We keep moving. The signal continues.
